The picture is believed to have been taken from inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, New Jersey, during a family private wake on the Friday before her funeral. It shows Whitney lying in the gold casket, wearing her favourite purple dress, with her hair worn up in a glamorous do and it appears she has make-up on her face. The image is teamed with the headline: 'Whitney: The last photo!' and has an accompanying tagline: 'Inside her private viewing'. According to the magazine, Houston was buried in £320,000 of jewellery and had gold slippers on her feet.
